Planning a kid’s room is not a child’s play. It’ a quite complex process where an adult has to incorporate all the safety features and blends them with childlike fantasy. The different between child and adult is that kid’s ideas and liking change more rapidly thus they need a flexible environment. Thus kids’ room décor needs to be less expensive and easily changeable. Kids need separate areas for sleeping, playing and studying. They need more elbow space compared to adults. Similarly, younger kids need more floor space to spread out while playing. Atypical room needs a bed, study table and storage. These three things are fairly stable provided they are designed futuristically. Thus it is wise to invest in these stable furniture pieces, however, while decorating a room you can be as thrifty as possible. Here are some ideas for low cost décor.

All parents strive hard to provide the very best for the very best for their children. Some are lucky to be born rich, but most of us have work to make ends meet. Unlike in our parents more frugal days when money was spent mostly on necessities, today, spending money has become something of a hobby or past-time. With credit being too readily available, many have fallen into the inevitable trap of living way beyond their means and racking up massive depts. Rich or poor, good money habits are essential. Money is, after all, finite. The simple dynamics of income and expense apply, regardless of the colossal or meagre amount one possesses. The concern is universal: how do we inculcate good money habits? As with most things, the trick is to start early by encouraging discipline from a very young age. Nothing happens overnight.

What Parents Can Do at Home
  • Before we help children deal with their vulnerability to advertising and marketing, parents need to have to understand their own.  In the process, parents need to look honestly at what matters to them.  If your values are primarily materialistic, it is likely that your children’s values will be materialistic as well.  The more you understand and try to change your consumption patterns, including tendencies to overspend or to turn to products for gratification, the better your position to help your children.
