The Federation of Malaysian Consumer Association (FOMCA) today officially welcome PETRONAS as partner for its Kempen Konsumer Kebangsaan or 3K Campaign to educate and nurture responsible and resilient Malaysian consumers to face the challenges brought about by the current economic and financial crisis.
The national oil corporation recently agreed to collaborate with FOMCA in the campaign for a period of two years, making it the first corporate entity to partner with FOMCA in the four-year national initiative.

PETRONAS is FOMCA’s fourth partner for the campaign. FOMCA is already partners with three non-governmental organisations, namely the National Council of Women Organizations (NCWO), the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) and the Congress of Union of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS), each of which has a wide reach and influence amongst the targeted consumers in both urban and rural communities nationwide.

The two-year collaboration was launched today during FOMCA’s “3K - The Way Forward” workshop held at Universiti Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.  FOMCA’s President Datuk Marimuthu Nadason and PETRONAS’ Vice President of Corporate Services Encik Ahmad Nizam Salleh were present at the event.

The workshop is one of the many activities lined up for NGOs to enhance their understanding on the 3K Campaign and its messages to facilitate their own programmes and support campaigns for their respective target groups to help in the drive to nurture responsible and resilient Malaysian consumers.
