The aim of this leadership training program is to prepare the next generation of consumer leaders through providing the appropriate knowledge and skills as well as exposing them to leadership experiences in preparation of their role. Many useful and relevant topics of consumer movement and issues were briefed as well as discussed during the 3 day program by people who have excelled in their field. The topic presented includes, The Consumer Power and the Power of the Consumer Movement History of the Global Consumer Movement – Role of Malaysia topic were presented by Dato’ Dr. Anwar Fazal ( Former President of IOCU), Consumer Movement in Malaysia Today – Role and Challenges by Datuk Marimuthu Nadason (President of FOMCA), Best Practices of NGOs - Consumer and Community Action by Mr. Paul Selvaraj (CEO CRRC), Social Responsibility in Malaysia – Benefits to Stakeholders (Government, Industry, Consumers) by Ms. Ratna Devi (Director of Standards Users), The Status of Consumer Complaints and Redressal in Malaysia by En. Sha’ani Abdullah (CEO NCCC) and Consumer Protection by Tuan Haji Mohamed Iqbal b. Mohamed Shafi (Consultant, HIQ Training and Consultancy & Former Director of Hal Ehwal Pengguna, KPDNHEP).
